I’m a romantic. I believe that we should be inspired by the things that surround us; a picture on the wall, a piece of furniture, a book, a tool, or any of the other countless objects in our lives. However about 100 years ago, visual beauty was sacrificed to make things cheap and easy to manufacture. The things around us became more and more bland as “form follows function” was applied. These objects don’t really speak to us anymore. And the worst part is, we not only accepted it, we embraced it as consumers.
It’s time to take some of that lost beauty and mix it back into our lives. Things should be both functional and beautiful in their own right. I’m a Maker. This blog follows my journey to bring back the best of the past and combine it with the present. This is a major endeavor that spans many trades and topics, so prepare for a scenic ride and be ready to be inspired
